28-SEP-03 V/UHF Omni has been on the fritz for a couple of weeks so pulled it. Found a cold solder joint on the 22pf cap feed point tap to the base matching transformer. Will remount this antenna off one of the residence plumbing vents, making service easier than working off the gable end of roof.
28-SEP-03 17meter dipole has been on the fritz for a few months now. Today I dropped it and found a cold solder joint. Fixed and SWR back to 1:1.

11-SEP-03 Dish mount project is closed! Today went to attic and re-torqued all mounting bolts. Added 2"x2"x1/4" angle reinforcing brackets across opposing rafters and tied into ridge pole. Pictures of residence structural support augments will be in dish mount construction page this winter.

07-AUG-03 Hooked up an LM18200 H bridge to drive the elevation actuator. Much work yet to do for QRV but, success with this milestone, provides plenty of steam for the move forward. Next, will be a simple PIC program to count and display elevation reed relay ticks.

27-JUL-03 Antenna (dish) party at W7NET. Could not conjure up lightning and thunder but, was a 100F day w/ heavy smoke from three local forest fires. Les N7CMJ, Jon WA7VNP & Rod W7VOS showed up at 0700 local to step the main mast, install support struts, set the AZ drive shaft and hang the dish by 1100. Huge job! Consumed gallons of water. We broke for burgers off the grill, a gallon of grapefruite juice and numerous 807s. Jon WA7VNP & Rod W7VOS, hung around for a while (Les N7CMJ had to be at work by 1300), and we did some pickup work, pulling off the job at 1500.
