I noticed that the content frame on the page linked from the Old W7NET Site, (linked by thumbnail at top of right hand column on home page), was lame. Fixed now so, maybe you won't be run off by the 404 error. :)

I've completed moving whiskey7.net from anHosting to Hostgater today. Dealing w/ anHosting availability issues finally wore me down to the point of leaving.
I was preparing a post to elaborate on my new 80m full wave loop and homebrew balanced feedline. When after several edits, I clicked the save button and half an hour later, I received an error from GeekLog, that the article could not be saved.
A day later of sniffing around, I found that the images I had tried to upload, (full size using netpbm suite to resize thumbnails for the article summary), were the culprit. The netpbm binaries were not in place on my host providers machine.

WX.com stopped returning the .gif for the weather sticker zo, I took it down. Guess I'll have to gin up my own weather report block, no metar stations around here!

Been watching the new weather sticker from wx.com and it seems to be fairly accurate. Problem w/ living in the sticks as I do, is that it is difficult to find a WX forcast engine that 'generates' a forcast from surrounding reporting stations. Not sure how the wx.com people forcast but, is going to have to do. Looks pretty good too.

Been watching the local weather in the block to the right and have killed it while searching for a better source for the local report. The service I was using was very slow to load and in-accurate to boot. Raining cats and dogs today and service was reporting clear.
I'll be trying various weather bugs for the block on right. Hope to settle on one soon.
Added local WX for Syringa, Idaho. I know the address is Kooskia but, USPS does not have a ZIP for Syringa. The QTH is less than 5 miles down river from Syringa and almost 11 miles up river from Kooskia. So there.
Added a favicon.ico to the header of all the HTML. To get this to show up, (that is in most browsers), you'll prolly have to delete any 'whiskey7.net' bookmarks/shortcuts you might have, re-bookmark and maybe even clear your chache. Le'me know if it doesn't work for you.
Just got off the phone w/ my old bud from North Central AR. Daryl - n5hnx, sure was good to hear from him, been over a year. Well, Daryl got an account here and I hope we get to hear from him on the blog....
