Did a lot of computing (HW&SW), in many of my working stints and still pretty involved. I enjoy doing the big projects but, really don't have the resources to do them any more however, now quite satisfied w/ my ham radio projects.

My prefered SW environments are Python, Forth or any assembly language.

My current HW setup is an INTERNET consisting of:

FreeBSD 4.6.2 2xSMP INTEL on AMI that handles ppp, NAT, IP
filtering, routing, httpd, file (w/ samba), mySQL, print, backup, shack
PREDICT server and development workbench.

Slackware 8.1 Linux COMPAQ laptop workstation. X terminal
and ham sat applications (PREDICT and home rolled).

W98 mid tower for DOSe compatability. Burn PICs & HC11s
from here.

W2000 DELL 5ke laptop for compatability w/ the lambs.

Old Projects (only a few listed):

Hacked PREDICT to output a compatible serial proto for driving my
old Mirage MTI > G-5400 for sat tracking. I'll move this to a PREDICT
socket client in time.

Recently, I did a PIC HW/SW project for a protocol converter between
an FT-100 and AmCom Screwdriver Controller.

Current Projects:

Writing (in Python) some ICOM CIV protocol PREDICT client applications
to tune my IC-910H for sat opps.

Investigating, some simple com DSP applications using 18F PICs.

My last mainstream job had me a Seinor Technical Architect owning mostly in house software and this E10k w/ an identical parallel processing system along side (installed after photo) . EU data came from another E10k in the UK. Systems were meshed w/ a slice from redundant 43TB EMC arrays. Then, eight (8) E4500s, arranged in SUN HA clusters of two, using 16 Photon arrays for another app. Finally, seven (7) t-1120s w/ 50GB shelves, distribuited globaly in an nntp layer.
